Troubleshooting Your Aquabot Pool Cleaner

An automated pool cleaner can change the way you maintain your swimming pool. Although Aquabot pool cleaners cannot do everything, it can do the scrubbing and vacuuming for you, so you will not need to hire professional cleaners. This automated pool cleaning robot has a microfilter that does much of the job, removing the need to have more expensive pool cleaning machines. The Aquabot has been around for more than 20 years, and its design and effectiveness have not changed.

The Aquabot pool cleaner is controlled by a microprocessor that makes it adapt to different pool environments. Regardless of the shape of your pool, the machine does its job, which involves scrubbing algae and dirt away. With its microfilter, it can get debris out of the water. Plus, it can also keep the water temperature and chemical balance in order. It goes around the pool to do cleaning and release chemicals to keep the water clean.

What if the machine does not operate? The first thing to check is the transformer if it is turned on. Also, make sure that the device is connected to a power source. If the cord is connected to a power source, check the cord itself for defects. See if the electrical outlet is working by plugging in another electrical appliance. If the appliance works, then something is wrong with your pool cleaning machine.

If nothing seems wrong with the Aquabot pool cleaner cord, inspect the unit if water is streaming out of it. Gushing water out of the unit indicates that it is receiving power. Now, check the pulley on the drive belt side if it is rotating. If not, there could be a problem with the drive motor.

The pool cleaner may stop moving when the drive belts are faulty. These parts may need to be repaired due to stretching and weakening. At some point, constant repair may no longer be wise. Instead, replace the drive pulley or the wheel tubes.

The wheel tubes should be in the right position. Otherwise, the drive belts will go loose. Also, the drive tracks should be inspected, because they serve as the feet of the machine that allows it to walk across the pool surface. After some time, the raised pads of the drive tracks will get eroded. The raised pads can also go loose if the wheel tube end bushings are not secured in place.

A faulty pump motor may cause the pool cleaner to not pick up debris. If this happens, inspect the unit by lifting it up near the water surface. If the water does not gush out of the top, the pump motor is probably shorted. Unplug the machine and take it out of the water. Inspect the impeller by connecting the machine again to the power outlet and seeing if the impeller spins. A shorted pump will cause the impeller to not spin. Problems with the pump motor will also keep the machine from being able to climb pool basin walls.

After sometime, the robot cleaner will become overwhelmed with debris. When there is too much dirt in the filter bag, the vacuuming power of the cleaner decreases. Cleaning the filter bag or cartridge often solves the issue.
